Many of the people who come to Hitch-Rack Pro are older adults who bought an eTrike for a simple reason: they want to keep getting out, exploring, traveling, exercising, and enjoying life.
But owning an eTrike can introduce a new challenge.
How do you take it with you?
As we worked with eTrike owners, we began seeing that the rack itself was only one part of the problem. There were little challenges throughout the entire process — lifting the rack, installing it into the receiver, lining up the hitch pin, loading the trike, and keeping the handlebars straight while pushing it up the ramp.
So we started working on those problems too.
Not because we had to.
Because that's what we believe a good company should do.
We Saw How Difficult Heavy Hitch Racks Could Be to Handle
Heavy-duty racks need to be strong enough to carry heavy eTrikes. But that strength also means weight.
For many people, getting a heavy rack from the garage, lifting it, and lining it up with the vehicle receiver can be one of the hardest parts of the entire process.
We thought there had to be an easier way.
So we developed the Rack Lift to help make handling and installing a heavy hitch rack easier.
It wasn't about adding another product.
It was about solving another problem.
We Made the Ramp Easier to Use
Loading an eTrike shouldn't feel like trying to balance three wheels on three narrow paths.
That's why our hitch racks use full-width ramps.
A full-width ramp gives the person loading the eTrike more room to work with and less to think about. Instead of concentrating on keeping every tire perfectly aligned with a narrow track, you can concentrate on moving the eTrike safely up the ramp.
It's a simple difference.
But sometimes the simple differences are the ones that matter most.
Then We Tackled the Hitch Pin
If you've ever installed something into a hitch receiver, you probably know the routine.
Push it in.
Bend down.
Look for the hole.
Move it a little.
Check again.
We saw the frustration and asked ourselves:
Can we make this easier too?
That question led us to develop the Hitch Hole Finder Tool, designed to make aligning the rack's hitch-pin hole with the vehicle receiver much easier.
One small frustration removed from the process.
Then We Looked at the Handlebars
We noticed another problem when people loaded their eTrikes.
While pushing a heavy trike up the ramp, they were also trying to steer it.
The handlebars could turn. The front wheel could flop from side to side. And suddenly one person was trying to push, balance, and steer at the same time.
Again, we asked:
How can we make this easier?
That led to what we call the EasyRatch Method.
Using self-retracting ratchet straps attached to each side of the handlebars and secured back toward the seat or rear basket helps stabilize the handlebars and prevent the front wheel from flopping from side to side.
That lets the person loading the eTrike focus more on pushing and less on steering.
Another problem solved.

We're not interested in simply building a rack and calling the job finished.
We pay attention to what happens before the rack is installed, while the eTrike is being loaded, and after our customers arrive at their destination.
When we see something that makes the process unnecessarily difficult, we ask a simple question:
“How can we make this easier?”
That question has led us to the Rack Lift.
It influenced our full-width ramp design.
It led us to the Hitch Hole Finder Tool.
And it led us to develop the EasyRatch Method.
We expect it will lead us to more ideas in the future.
Because the real goal isn't simply to help someone transport an eTrike.
It's to remove as many obstacles as we can between our customers and the places they want to go.
